I am pleased to have work selected by Catherine Edelman the juror for the 5th CoPA exhibition Milwaukee. This will be the first time I exhibit works from a new Untitled body of work.

Ok, I have not posted in 3 months.  So, what has been going on?

I have a show up at Morton College in Cicero (comes down this sunday).  There is a good mix of work with 1-2 images that I have never shown before.

I have some work in a group exhibition “The Photographic Experience” at the Preston Contemporary Art Center in New Mexico that will also be published in Photo Technique Magazine in July.

I have a piece in a show at the Wright Museum of Art in Beloit.

And next month I will be in a group show “Chicago Project IV” at Catherine Edelman Gallery in Chicago.  The opening reception is July 15th (also my birthday) and the show goes through September 3rd. Other artists in the show include Matt Austin, Justyna Badach, Jeremy Bolen, Dan Bradica, Troy Flinn, Lenny Gilmore, Wm. Bradley Johnson, Bill O’Donnell, TJ Proechel, Charlie Simokaitis and Shane Welch.

I’m pleased to announce my inclusion in a show by The Center for Photography at Madison at the Steenbock Gallery. Madison’s primary photographic arts organization has partnered with Andy Adams of FlakPhoto.com in presenting an exhibition of contemporary photography. The show is specifically designed to allow participation by all working photographers and provide a dialogue between emerging photographers, students, professionals, educators and artists in Madison and across the country.

I’m pleased to announce my inclusion in an exhibition on the theme of the ephemera opening next week at Northwest Missouri State University. Works selected for this exhibit will explore the notion of time, impermanence, illusion, ruin, and/or the temporary as primary characteristics.

The show will be up from February 21 – March 18, 2011 and is Juried by Daniel Keegan, the Director of the Milwaukee Art Museum. There is an opening reception at the The DeLuce Gallery on Monday February 21st, 2011, at 7 p.m. If you are in the Maryville area, please check it out. Unfortunately I will be unable to attend the opening.

New work up in the Fall Faculty Show in the Arrowhead Gallery at Waubonsee Community College.

Now that the summer semester is over I am in prep mode for a new show going up at the end of August at University of Notre Dame. It will be a solo show in the photography gallery with 15 pieces. I have spent the last free weeks making my selection and editing a couple of newer works that I have not yet printed at a larger size.

On a side note I want to mention a great place to get digital printing paper out in the suburbs: it supplies. They have great prices and ship free for orders over $100. After calling around all morning I found they were the only place in the chicago area that had my paper in stock. I was able to call and place the order over the phone and pick it up two hours later, wonderful!

I’m headed out of town for a little shooting trip (stocked up 60 sheets of film and will hopefully use it all! It has been a busy summer and I need a little vacation/work trip before starting back for the new school year.
